Daycarecentre

Manitos a la Obra was started in 2000 as a small Kindergarten for the little children from Redil.  In that time, we had the help from a very motivated volunteer from Ecuador and one from Holland.

Very soon, we noticed that there was a big need among the women from the poor neighborhood around the property of Misión Timoteo. They have to work to maintain their children and most of the time no fathers are present. For that reason, many of those children were enclosed in their houses during the day, sometimes with a sister or brother who was just a little bit older to take care of them. This is not a very favorable situation. That is why the Mision started very soon the daycare. >

Today about 60 children are attending every day.

The contacts with the parents of the daycare centre are very good. We also offer them the possibility to take some classes on hygiene, preparing food, education in the family, etc.

This contact also creates good opportunities to bring the gospel into the neighborhood.
